Mientras se busca fortalecer la campaña de vacunación contra el coronavirus para ampliar la cobertura de los grupos de riesgo, uno de los tratamientos para asistir a pacientes que cursan la enfermedad apunta a suministrar ibuprofeno nebulizable, que es elaborado a partir de una receta magistral y entregado sin cargo al paciente.
Su uso como tratamiento contra el Covid-19 dependerá de la decisión de cada médico y de la eventual aprobación por parte del paciente o de su familia. En esos casos, el modo de conseguirlo es a través de un farmacéutico que esté dispuesto a elaborar esa solución.
En Tandil, la farmacéutica María Alejandra Berlari, junto a sus colegas Ana Krieger y Beatriz Subelza, prepara desde hace un tiempo el producto para responder a la demanda de localidades vecinas y también de la ciudad.
El medicamento se entrega sin cargo, siempre y cuando se presente la receta médica pertinente. “Es nuestro aporte a esta situación tan difícil que todos estamos viviendo”, sostuvo la profesional, que observó que desde comienzos de este año notan un incremento en la cantidad de doctores que lo prescriben a sus pacientes.
El año pasado, un farmacéutico de San Nicolás, Guillermo García, elaboró una receta magistral que permite frenar la tormenta de citoquinas, las sustancias inflamatorias que terminan dañando el tejido pulmonar, la dio a conocer entre los más de 600 integrantes de la Red Magistralmente y así comenzó la elaboración en Tandil.
“Es una nebulización. Entregamos frascos de 15 mililitros y se utiliza un mililitro disuelto en solución fisiológica, a aplicarse a criterio del médico”, explicó Berlari en diálogo con El Eco de Tandil.
En los pacientes con coronavirus, a los cuatro o cinco días de cursar la enfermedad, se les puede producir una “hiperinflación con una serie de reacciones en el organismo, que puede llevar a la fatiga, falta de aire, saturación de oxígeno”.
En esos casos, el ibuprofeno, que es la droga, “actúa con su poder antiinflamatorio en el pulmón y hace que el paciente se sienta mejor”.
“Se ha demostrado que las nebulizaciones con ibuprofenato ayudan a la calidad de vida” de los pacientes diagnosticados con el virus y, al bajar la inflamación, “permite al organismo defenderse del Covid y dar respuesta al resto de la medicación que se suministre”.
Para medir el impacto de esta opción, Berlari indicó que, “cuando comenzó eran pocos los médicos que lo recetaban y ahora estamos viendo que cada vez son más variadas las recetas y eso demuestra que empezaron a recetarlo. Cada vez son más los que se van sumando porque evidentemente ven los resultados”.
“Realmente el ibuprofenato de sodio salva vidas”, insistió y para graficar la situación precisó que, entre septiembre del año pasado y abril, “entregué alrededor de 300 frasquitos”, con un incremento en la demanda a partir de febrero de 2021.
“Escuchamos a los médicos que lo han utilizado y vuelven a recetarlo. Si el paciente puede nebulizarse antes de esta hiperinflamación, en muchos casos se evita la internación y puede atravesar la enfermedad en su casa y, dentro de todo, con una mejor calidad de vida”, remarcó la farmacéutica.
En efecto, indicó que atendieron recetas médicas para pacientes de Olavarría, Chillar y Bolívar, entre otros distritos de la región. No obstante, señaló que “hay gente que hace muchos kilómetros para conseguirlo y en Tandil hay tres farmacias que lo preparan”.
“Estamos en una situación tan difícil y de tanta angustia que para nosotros es muy bueno poder contribuir de esta manera”, subrayó y garantizó que “todo lo que podamos hacer para aliviar a la gente en esa situación, lo vamos a hacer”.
Para finalizar, indicó que la Fundación Respirar solicitó a la red Magistral Mente el suministro de ibuprofenato a sus pacientes, ya que la entidad cuenta con farmacéuticos formulistas en todo el país.
