El intendente Guillermo Montenegro estuvo recorriendo varios de los puntos en donde personal del Ente Municipal de Vialidad y Alumbrado Público (EMVIAL) cambiaba las luminarias, acompañado por Fernando Muro, secretario de Desarrollo Productivo e Innovación.
“Este tipo de iluminación y la posibilidad de mejorar su rendimiento impacta directamente y de manera positiva en el sector comercial de la zona”, señaló al respecto Muro: “Hay una mayor visibilidad en la calle y también eso impacta en la Seguridad, más allá de lo estrictamente energético”.
La nueva tecnología genera un ahorro de energía superior al 50% en comparación con las tecnologías convencionales.
Por consiguiente, hay una mayor eficiencia debido a una mayor vida útil, un menor consumo, un bajo costo de mantenimiento y un mayor poder lumínico. Asimismo, a través del ahorro energético se contribuye a reducir las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero.
Por último, la tecnología LED ofrece una luz potente y focalizada, a diferencia de los globos convencionales de sodio de alta presión (SAP) que emiten una luz más difusa, por lo que posee una capacidad de control superior sobre la intensidad de la iluminación.
