La pandemia y las restricciones que se tomaron para enfrentarla impactaron fuerte en el comercio del microcentro porteño y las farmacias son uno de los rubros más afectados. A la lista de cierres de esos locales se agregó en los últimos días la decisión de la cadena Farmacity de abandonar su espacio ubicado en Sarmiento 481, entre San Martín y Reconquista, una zona virtualmente paralizada.
Sin embargo, la empresa decidió mudarse a la zona norte de la Ciudad, ya que sin oficinistas ni turistas, el microcentro es un área casi desierta. La compañía también cerró su negocio de San Martín 628, a la altura de Tucumán. En este último caso, el local se relocalizará en el barrio de Saavedra, en el DOT Baires, adonde planea abrir el mes que viene.
Las farmacias habían sido definidas en marzo del año pasado -en el inicio de la cuarentena- como comercios esenciales, pero esa calificación no alcanzó para mantenerse a pie en el centro porteño: muchas de ellas bajaron sus persianas en el último año y medio.
Tal el caso de un local de ABC en Diagonal Norte, que luego logró reabrir gracias a una renegociación por el contrato de alquiler; Farmacity cerró su sucursal de Sarmiento 481 y lo mudó a Santa Fe 3175, en Palermo, según publicó el portal especializado Pharmabiz.
Por su parte, la cadena Soy abandonó Balvanera -otra zona muy golpeada por las restricciones- y se instaló en Barrio Norte. En tanto, la perfumería Pigmento dejó su local de la peatonal Florida, una de las arterias emblemáticas de la Ciudad.
La Cámara Argentina de Comercio (CAC) informó recientemente que en Florida hay 69 negocios con sus puertas cerradas, que implica una variación del 430% en comparación a los datos pre- pandemia, cuando había 13 locales vacíos. El caso de Falabella también es significativo: de ser el segundo comprador de perfumería de las principales compañías del sector, este año dejó de operar en el país.
Según datos del Gobierno porteño, el 63% del espacio del microcentro corresponde a oficinas y el espacio de viviendas es del 20%. Ante el panorama planteado por la pandemia, la Federación de Comercio e Industria de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (Fecoba) propuso que, a largo plazo, las oficinas del microcentro puedan convertirse en viviendas. Por el home office y por la ausencia de turistas, están prácticamente cerradas la mayoría de las oficinas y también numerosos locales.
