El nuevo cargamento llegó desde Ámsterdam a través del mecanismo internacional Covax. Por la tarde se espera el arribo de un vuelo proveniente de Moscú con el que la Argentina habrá superado las 15 millones de dosis recibidas.
En un vuelo de la compañía de los Países Bajos, KLM, que aterrizó esta mañana a las 6.51 procedente de Ámsterdam, llegaron 657.600 vacunas AstraZeneca del mecanismo Covax de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
La aeronave había partido anoche a las 22.18 del aeropuerto de Schiphol, en la capital holandesa.
Con este cargamento se completará el envío de 861.600 dosis, que comenzó con una tanda de 204.000 vacunas que fueron recibidas el domingo 23 de mayo.
En tanto, por la tarde, se espera también el arribo del decimoséptimo vuelo de Aerolíneas Argentinas procedente de Moscú con más dosis de Sputnik V, por lo que, con ambas partidas, Argentina superará las 15 millones de dosis.
La aeronave Airbus 330-200, matrícula LV-GIF, especialmente modificada para funcionar como carguero, despegó bajo el número AR1063 a las 22.39 (hora argentina) desde la capital rusa y se estima que tras alrededor de 17 horas de viaje el avión esté tocando pista en Ezeiza alrededor de las 18 de hoy.
Se trata de la decimoséptima operación de este tipo a Rusia que lleva a cabo Aerolíneas Argentinas desde el inicio de la pandemia.
“Es una buena noticia que en el momento más difícil de esta pandemia sigan llegando vuelos porque se traducen en más personas protegidas. La salida para esta situación es seguir extremando cuidados y continuar con el plan de vacunación”, señaló respecto al vuelo Pablo Ceriani, titular de la compañía de bandera.
Las vacunas producidas por el Instituto Gamaleya son trasladadas en contenedores del tipo “thermobox” a una temperatura de 18 grados bajo cero y con carga adicional de refrigeración.
Como en los vuelos anteriores, la tripulación está compuesta por comandantes, copilotos, personal técnico, de mantenimiento y de cabina, totalizando 20 personas a bordo.
