Pero en la segunda mitad del segmento el “Granate” disfrutó de la tarea de Lucas Pérez (9 puntos) y dejó la historia muy pareja de cara al segundo tiempo (35-33).
El tercer periodo fue de una paridad absoluta, con mucho ritmo e intensidad. Everett fue imparable en la pintura, reboteó, castigó y sumó para Lanús. Con gol en diferentes manos, Quilmes respondió y pudo mantener el dominio en el marcador. Con mucha energía, el partido se hizo cortado pero tampoco fallaron desde la línea. Con una conversión final de Pelorosso, Quilmes cerró arriba 61-57.
Pero Lanús, de a poco, fue encontrando ventajas. Contra un Quilmes complicado por las faltas en su rotación, el “Granate” se adueñó de la pintura. Everett continuó con su dominio, Gilmore se acopló con un par de corridas y, con un parcial 10-1 consumado con un triple de Sampaulise, Lanús encontró su mejor momento en el partido para sacar su máxima (80-72). Pero Quilmes no se rindió. Un triple de Gago, defensas y un doble de Brown dejaron la historia para una última ofensiva en busca del suplementario. Marquardt no pudo convertir y Brown sumó tras el rebote ofensivo para el fin de la historia.
