Colombia, con un tremendo golazo de Luis Díaz, venció esta noche a Perú por 3 a 2 y se quedó con el tercer puesto de la Copa América, en el partido disputado en el estadio “Mané Garrincha” de Brasilia.
El conjunto dirigido por Ricardo Gareca se puso en ventaja con un tanto de Yoshimar Yotún, a los 45 minutos del primer tiempo, pero en el complemento Colombia lo dio vuelta a los 4, con un tiro libre de Juan Cuadrado, y a los 21, por Díaz.
Sin embargo, Perú alcanzó el transitorio empate con un cabezazo de Gianluco Lapadula, a los 37, pero en tiempo de descuento Díaz sacó un tremendo remate desde afuera del área que venció al arquero Pedro Gallese.
Esta es la quinta vez que Colombia termina tercera en una Copa América, ya que anteriormente fue en 1987, 1993, 1995 y 2016, mientras que Perú es su sexta ocasión como cuarto: 1929, 1941, 1957, 1959 y 1997, previamente.
El partido tuvo intensidad y ninguno de los dos equipos, que formaron con algunos nombres que no venían siendo titulares, bajó el pie del acelerador.
Tanto Camilo Vargas, en Colombia, como Pedro Gallese, en Perú, tuvieron trabajo, aunque de mediana envergadura en el primer tiempo, y a los 25 un veloz contragolpe de Perú terminó con una escapada de Cueva para que Yotún le gane el mano a mano al portero colombiano.
Claro, era el último minuto del primer tiempo y en el complemento Rueda modificó el mediocampo y sacó a Cardona para meter a Chará, y Colombia ganó una marcha más.
Un tiro libre de Cuadrado emparejó el resultado y Colombia se animó a más y a los 21 Luis Díaz fue el que ahora llevó adelante el contragolpe colombiano que terminó en la red.
Parecía que Colombia se iba a quedar con el triunfo, pero no contaba con la presencia de Lapadula, que le ganó a todos sus rivales y de cabeza estableció el 2 a 2 parcial.
Pero cuando ya el tiempo expiraba, la habilidad de Luis Díaz hizo de las suyas, combinó con Muriel, y desde afuera del área sacó un remate furibundo que venció las manos de Gallese para la victoria y el podio final.
