Brasil y Perú, finalistas de la última edición, se enfrentarán este lunes por el primer cupo para el partido decisivo de la Copa América 2021, que se jugará el sábado próximo en el mítico estadio Maracaná de Río de Janeiro.
Esta semifinal entre rivales de antecedentes frondosos y cercanos se jugará desde las 20:00 en el estadio Nilton Santos de Río y será televisada por TyC Sports y DirecTV Sports. Su ganador definirá el título con Argentina o Colombia, protagonistas de la llave restante.
Brasil, que busca su décima corona a nivel sudamericano, es el máximo favorito de la competencia y por el momento honró esa condición con autoridad: se adjudicó el Grupo B, está invicto con cuatro victorias y un empate, anotó once goles y recibió apenas dos.
En su rendimiento futbolístico tuvo altibajos, como en la igualdad ante Ecuador (1-1) en la última fecha de su zona o el primer tiempo frente a Chile (1-0), al que llega de eliminar en cuartos de final, pero aún el de Tite nunca dejó de ser un equipo confiable

En Copa América, brasileños y peruanos se enfrentaron en 20 ocasiones, con un amplio dominio del “Scratch”: 14 triunfos, 3 empates y 3 derrotas.
En el partido de este lunes ambos tendrán ausencias de peso, aunque ello repercute más en el conjunto incaico por su menor disponibilidad de recursos. Gareca no podrá alinear a uno de sus jugadores más desequilibrantes, el extremo derecho André Carrillo, que fue expulsado ante Paraguay en los cuartos de final.
Brasil, por su parte, no contará con el delantero del Manchester City Gabriel Jesús, que también vio la tarjeta roja en esa instancia por una descalificadora falta ante el chileno Eugenio Mena. Para suplir esa baja, Tite cuenta con Roberto Firmino, del Liverpool, o Gabigol, de Flamengo.
Otro cambio en la formación del pentacampeón mundial podría darse si el lateral Alex Sandro se recupera de una lesión, caso contrario seguirá el futbolista de Atlético de Madrid Renan Lodi.
