Quilmes volvió a tener otra mala tarea ofensiva y cayó ante Ciclista Juninense por 65-76 en el cierre de la sede en Mar del Plata de la Liga Argentina. Jeffrey Merchant fue el goleador con 20 puntos.
Fue un mejor inicio de Ciclista. Con goleo repartido, Woods activo (8 en el cuarto) y eficacia con los triples de Pedemonte, encontró una rápida ventaja de 9-17. A Quilmes le costó hacer pie en el juego y forzó demasiado, aunque tuvo en Merchant (10 en el periodo) su sostén ante el bajo nivel colectivo. Con más fluidez y mejor defensivamente, Ciclista se llevó el primer segmento por 16-23.
Quilmes subió la intensidad en el segundo cuarto, y con rápido 10-2 en los primeros tres minutos emparejó la historia (26-26). Pero Ciclista se acomodó con dos triples, Quilmes sufrió un mal ingreso de Skidelsky (dos pérdidas y dos faltas) y con un parcial 10-0 se alejó nuevamente (26-36). Con la aparición de Pelorosso, el “Tricolor” pudo descontar y cerrar 39-43 abajo al entretiempo.
El tercer cuarto se manejó en la misma línea. Ciclista manejó el resultado, aguantó las embestidas de un Quilmes más agresivo y llegó a sacar máxima de once (45-56) con una gran tarea de Britos. Con la energía de González aunque errático en el tiro perimetral, Quilmes pudo volver rápido al partido y cerrar a sólo seis (55-61).
Nadie parecía querer ganarlo en el último cuarto. Todo lo que Quilmes mejoró defensivamente, se chocó contra una floja performance ofensiva. Lo opuesto para Ciclista, que no pudo fluir como en los cuartos previos. Así, en siete minutos apenas ganaban el cuarto los juninenses por 5-4. A partir de allí fue la línea de libres la que marcó el destino del partido. Ciclista no falló y se llevó su segunda victoria de Mar del Plata.
Quilmes continuará su actividad del 6 al 12 de abril con una nueva etapa que se disputará en Olavarría. Allí formará parte de la ventana junto con Racing de Chivilcoy, Lanús, Rivadavia de Mendoza, Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata, Ciclista Juninense y Estudiantes de Olavarría
