Se trata del octavo vuelo de Aerolíneas Argentinas que trae al país una nueva partida de la vacuna Sputnik V contra el coronavirus. Despegó poco después de la medianoche desde Moscú y arribó a Buenos Aires poco antes de las 17.
La aeronave, un Airbus 330-200 matrícula LA-GIF, especialmente preparado para el transporte de carga, bajo el número AR1063, aterrizó en Ezeiza a las 16,52, donde fue recibida por la ministra de Salud, Carla Vizzotti; el ministro del Interior, Wado De Pedro; la asesora presidencial, Cecilia Nicolini y el titular de Aerolíneas Argentinas, Pablo Ceriani.
El vuelo había partido de la capital rusa a las 6:14 hora local (0:14 de la Argentina), desde el aeropuerto internacional de Sheremétievo, tras permanecer en la estación aérea poco más de seis horas para concretar el proceso de estiba de las vacunas.
Según informaron fuentes oficiales, el nuevo lote de vacunas está conformado por 300.000 dosis del componente 1 y 200.000 dosis del componente 2 de la Sputnik V y con la llegada de estas 500.000 dosis, Argentina contará con 4.880.540 unidades de vacunas.
Luego del procedimiento de desaduanaje, recepción, control térmico, conteo, fraccionamiento y acondicionamiento, las vacunas serán distribuidas a las 24 jurisdicciones en los próximos días, tras la autorización de uso de la Anmat.
Según el Monitor Público de Vacunación, el registro online del Ministerio de Salud que muestra en tiempo real la evolución del operativo de inmunización en todo el territorio nacional, hasta esta mañana ya eran 3.142.444 las vacunas aplicadas: 2.535.054 personas recibieron la primera dosis y 607.390, ambas.
El vuelo se realizó de forma directa en poco más de 16 horas, lo que posibilitó ampliar la capacidad de frío de los distintos contenedores y reducir la duración del viaje para evitar cambios de aviones y esperas en diferentes aeropuertos.
Desde diciembre pasado, Aerolíneas Argentinas realiza operaciones de vuelo especiales con el objetivo de traer vacunas al país.
La compañía de bandera inició sus vuelos a Moscú a fines de diciembre último, y en los dos primeros traslados llegaron 600 mil dosis de Sputnik V, mientras que en el tercero fueron 220 mil; en el cuarto, 400 mil; en el quinto, 517 mil, en el sexto, 732 mil vacunas, y el séptimo trajo 330 mil dosis.
En total, entre los ocho vuelos completados hasta ahora hacia y desde la capital de la Federación Rusa se trajeron 3.299.000 dosis de Sputnik V.
Además, se realizó un vuelo a Beijing, en la República Popular China, desde donde vinieron 908.000 dosis de la vacuna producida por Sinopharm, por lo que, hasta el momento, la cantidad de vacunas que llegaron al país en vuelos de Aerolíneas Argentinas es de 3.707.000.
