Luego del anuncio de la fabricación nacional de la vacuna Suptnik V, se conoció que su nombre será el acrónimo V.I.D.A.
Tras conocerse hoy que el Fondo Ruso de Inversión Directa (RDIF) y los Laboratorios Richmond SACIF producirán la vacuna Sputnik V contra el coronavirus en Argentina, revelaron que su nombre llevará el acrónimo V.I.D.A., que significa Vacuna de Inmunización para el Desarrollo Argentino.
Sputnik VIDA tendrán entonces por nombre las dosis que se fabricarán en el Laboratorio Richmond en su planta de Pilar, por primera vez en Latinoamérica.
La producción local la llevará adelante la empresa que preside Marcelo Figueiras, a partir de una ampliación de su planta en el conurbano norte de la Provincia, luego de haber concretado un fideicomiso financiero por 70 millones de dólares para la financiación de la misma.
De este modo, la Spuntik VIDA será la segunda vacuna que se produce en el país, tras el acuerdo alcanzado para la fabricación de la vacuna de Oxford/AstraZeneca que lleva a cabo el empresario Hugo Sigman también en la Provincia, pero que se envasan en México.
“Estamos muy entusiasmados con la posibilidad de producir Sputnik V en Argentina, una vacuna con la que ya estamos protegiendo a gran parte de nuestra población con excelentes resultados. Será una gran oportunidad para avanzar en la lucha contra la pandemia no solo en Argentina, sino también en América Latina”, había manifestado hoy el presidente Alberto Fernández tras conocerse la noticia.
Por su parte, el presidente de Richmond SACIF, expresó a la prensa que “El proyecto de producir localmente las vacunas para paliar este tipo de pandemias y sus eventuales mutaciones es, sin dudas, el camino más eficiente, eficaz y sustentable, ya que nos fortalece en autonomía de reacción frente al virus”.
El Fondo Ruso de Inversión Directa, que promovió la vacuna creada por el Instituto Gamaleya de Rusia,había destacado que Argentina fue el primer país latinoamericano en probar la eficacia de la Sputnik V y que ahora será el primero en producirla. Además, señalaron que podría ser exportada a otros países de la región.
