Alejandro Ferro, Secretario de Salud, recordó que se deben vacunar todas las niñas de 11 años contra el virus del papiloma humano (HPV) , generador de cáncer de cuello de útero con las 3 dosis . Para ello, deben concurrir a los centros de salud en el horario habitual y al Centro 1 los sabados y domingos por la mañana.
En este sentido, Ferro afirmó que “es preocupante que habiéndose ya cumplido un año y un mes del inicio de la campaña tan pocas niñas se hayan aplicado la 2da y la 3er dosis de las vacuna contra el HPV . Por eso apelamos a la conciencia y responsabilidad de los padres para que se acerquen a cualquier centro de salud y completen con las 3 dosis necesarias para esta vacuna contra el HPV”.
Asimismo, el Secretario de Salud subrayó la tarea llevada adelanta por el Gobierno Nacional, el cual incluyó esta campaña dentro del calendario oficial el año parsado . “Hay que destacar la acción del Gobierno Nacional de colocar esta vacuna dentro del calendario oficial y garantizarlo para todas las niñas de 11 años, dado que esta vacuna, por el alto costo que tenía, estaba sólo dirigida a aquellas personas que la pudieran financiar a través de la cobertura o a través del propio bolsillo”.
Por último, Alejandro Ferro explicó acerca de este virus, generador de cáncer de cuello de útero. “Es una enfermedad que afecta en general a las mujeres que menos recursos tienen y en las cuales los controles en salud no son tan rigurosos, por eso es que nos parece una medida excepcional que esta vacuna esté disponible para todas las niñas antes de comenzar la etapa sexual donde la efectividad de la vacuna es máxima”
Se recuerda que son 3 dosis la 2da a 30 días de la primera y la 3ra a los 6 meses , si hubiera habido retrasos en la aplicación de las dosis ( la 2da y la 3ra) se debe continuar con el plan no siendo necesario la reiniciación del mismo
Las niñas podrán ser vacunadas en todos los Centros de salud en el horario habitual y los sábados y domingos en el Centro numero 1 de la calle Salta y Colon en el horario de la mañana .
